Making an Impact

Volunteer Leaders

If you have a heart for teenagers and a love for Jesus Christ, you have what it takes to be a Young Life leader. Of course, building friendships with teenagers takes time. Most volunteer leaders give between 5-10 hours a week. These hours include weekly club and Bible studies, plus leadership meetings and time spent hanging out with kids at football games, lunches and more.

The North Central Texas Region needs volunteers to work with students from more than 130 middle schools and high schools in Dallas, Collin, Denton, Rockwall and Tarrant Counties. Hear what current volunteer leaders say about their experience and email us for more information about how you become a volunteer leader.

Prayer Partners
Prayer is the foundation of this ministry, and something for which staff members and committee are extremely grateful. We are asking God to direct this ministry and to raise up workers to harvest the fields, and we hope that you will join us in that prayer. Many areas also have local prayer groups or prayer emails of which you can be a part. Send an email to be connected with a local area in North Central Texas.

Area Friends
Staff, committee members and volunteer leaders in local areas depend on other community members to make Young Life happen. As an area friend, you could provide meals for volunteer leader meetings, drive middle school kids to WyldLife activities or host meetings at your home. Let your local area know that you want to help, and they'll let you know what they need.  Send an email to be connected with a local area in North Central Texas.

Other Opportunities
Perhaps you have talents or resources that we haven't mentioned. Just let us know how you'd like to help. Young Life staff members are some creative folks - and if your desire is for teenagers to know Jesus, they'd love to identify a way your gifts could be used in this ministry.  Send an email to be connected with a local area in North Central Texas.

Young Life in College
If you're a college student looking for a great place to have fun, share life with amazing people and get closer to God, Young Life could be the place for you. You can get involved on several college campuses in North Texas including Austin College, Dallas Baptist University, SMU, TCU, the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington. College students can also train to be Young Life leaders in local areas. Contact us to find out how you can get involved on your campus.

Crooked Creek Work Week
Each May, more than 300 college kids, volunteer leaders, Young Life alumni, committee members and staff head to Crooked Creek Ranch for work week. We spend the days getting camp ready for a summer of 4,000 high school kids - planting, painting, cleaning, building and more - all to help give high school kids the best week of their lives. In the evenings, we gather for club, laugh at silly Young Life skits, worship together and be challenged in our walks with Christ.

Check the alumni page for more information about work week.
